Some of the younger brothers in TV history are not so little anymore.<\/p>\n

There have been some precious and precocious child sitcom stars over the decades, including ones who played on-screen brothers to their real-life siblings<\/a>, as Andrew Lawrence<\/a> did on the \u201890s series Brotherly Love<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Just like little Andy, other former young actors on shows like The Brady Bunch<\/em><\/a>, Moesha<\/em><\/a>, Lizzie McGuire<\/em><\/a> and more have gone on to pursue lives beyond their early roles. Some have continued in Hollywood, while George Lopez<\/em>\u2019s Luis Armand Garcia and Home Improvement<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Taran Noah Smith<\/a> have settled into privacy outside of the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Here are 12 little brothers from beloved family shows and what they\u2019re doing today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ralph Carter: Michael Evans on Good Times<\/em><\/h2>\n

Ralph Carter was already a Broadway superstar by the time he signed on to play the youngest Evans sibling, Michael, on Good Times<\/em><\/a> in 1974. His TV acting career slowed after the sitcom wrapped in 1979, but he continued making music and performing on stages.<\/p>\n

Carter, who has five children, has been married to his second wife, River York, since 1994.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mike Lookinland: Bobby Brady on The Brady Bunch<\/em><\/h2>\n

Before even turning 9, Mike Lookinland<\/a> started playing the youngest Brady Bunch <\/em>son. He starred as Bobby Brady for all five seasons and appeared in spinoffs and retrospective specials following the series finale in March 1974.<\/p>\n

On a March 2026 episode of The Real Brady Bros.<\/em><\/a>, Lookinland admitted to having a tough time adjusting to post-child star fame, saying, \u201cI lived my childhood in my 20s<\/a> because I couldn\u2019t when I was a child. And in my 20s, I had a car and money and freedom. … I was fully off the rails.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI\u2019m just thankful that not every man, woman, and child had a high-def camera in their pocket when I was 25, like they do now, because it would have ruined my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The majority of Lookinland\u2019s Hollywood roles have been Brady<\/em>-adjacent, though he guest-starred on Funny Face<\/em> and Little House on the Prairie<\/em><\/a>, among a few other non-Bobby parts. He also appeared alongside his Brady<\/em> brothers in Haylie Duff<\/a>\u2019s 2021 TV holiday film Blending Christmas<\/em><\/a>, and competed alongside them on The Masked Singer<\/em><\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Lookinland has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kelly Wermuth, since 1987. The pair share two sons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

From 1984 to 1992, Danny Pintauro<\/a> starred alongside Tony Danza<\/a> on the hit show Who\u2019s the Boss?<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>He played Jonathan Bower for all eight seasons, then decided to pursue a life out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Over the years, the former child star, who went on to study at Stanford University, has reflected on his rocky experience with fame.<\/p>\n

After college, Pintauro returned to acting in New York City while working odd jobs outside of the industry<\/a>, including previously as a vet technician and currently as an Amazon Flex driver<\/a>. He struggled with drug use and contracted HIV, which he revealed six years later<\/a> in 2021. Pintauro made a television comeback in 2022, landing a role in the Lifetime holiday movie A Country Christmas Harmony<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pintauro has been married to Wil Tabares since 2014.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Marcus T. Paulk: Myles Mitchell on Moesha<\/em><\/h2>\n

After playing Brandy<\/a>\u2019s on-screen little brother Myles on Moesha<\/em>, which aired on UPN from 1996 to 2001, Marcus T. Paulk continued his Hollywood career.<\/p>\n

On the big screen, he appeared in Roll Bounce<\/em> (2005), Take the Lead<\/em> (2006), Another Cinderella Story<\/em> (2008) and George Lucas<\/a>\u2019 Red Tails<\/em> (2012). His appearances on TV have included episodes of black-ish<\/em><\/a> and The Block Trilogies<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Paulk has also appeared in Me and the Dragon\u2019s Daughter<\/em> (2024), Different with Me<\/em> (2025), Game<\/em> (2025) and Between Love & Justice<\/em> (2026), guest-starred on Mind Your Business<\/em> and lent his voice to The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder<\/em><\/a> revival.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Luis Armand Garcia: Max Lopez on George Lopez<\/em><\/h2>\n

Following his starring role as George Lopez<\/a>\u2019s son Max on the actor\u2019s self-titled series from 2002 to 2007, Garcia pursued a private life off-camera.<\/p>\n

In 2022, however, he briefly returned to acting, making a cameo appearance as a different character on Lopez\u2019s new sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez<\/em><\/a>, which aired from 2022 to 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lizzie McGuire\u2019s (Hilary Duff<\/a>) pesky younger brother Matt was played by Jake Thomas<\/a>, who followed up his early aughts stint on the Disney Channel with several guest appearances on shows like ER<\/em><\/a>, CSI: Miami, <\/em>The<\/em> Secret Life of the American Teenager<\/em><\/a> and S.W.A.T.<\/em><\/a>, as well as a recurring role on Disney\u2019s Cory in the House<\/em>, which ran from 2007 to 2008.<\/p>\n

Thomas appeared on the big screen as well, including in The Cell <\/em>(2000) and A.I. Artificial Intelligence<\/em> (2001). He has since had guest spots on NCIS<\/em><\/a> and a recurring role on the horror anthology series Night Visions<\/em>, as well as in the 2024 indie film Crossroads<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2023, he briefly co-hosted Living Lizzie<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>a Lizzie McGuire<\/em> rewatch, with his former costar Davida Williams. Thomas is also a photographer and director, per his official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Paul Butcher is best known for playing Jamie Lynn Spears<\/a>\u2019 on-screen little brother, Dustin, on Zoey 101<\/em><\/a> throughout its four-season run from 2005 to 2008. He didn\u2019t reprise the role for the 2023 Paramount+ film Zoey 102<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following his success on the Nickelodeon series, Butcher continued with minor roles and guest appearances on TV shows like Criminal Minds<\/em><\/a>. His last acting credit was the 2022 film Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Butcher has also pursued music, releasing\u00a0several songs on Spotify<\/a>, including 2023\u2019s \u201cPieces.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nolan Gould<\/a> grew up in front of the camera during Modern Family<\/em><\/a>\u2019s 11-year run on ABC. He starred as Luke Dunphy from 2009 to 2020 and also nabbed some work beyond the series during its run.<\/p>\n

After the sitcom ended, the Mensa International member (who graduated from high school with a GED at age 13!) appeared in a trio of films in 2023: Miranda\u2019s Victim<\/em><\/a>, The Nana Project <\/em>and Camp<\/em>. He also made a guest appearance on Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em><\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Gould lives in L.A. with his close friend and on-screen Modern Family<\/em> big sister, Ariel Winter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jake T. Austin: Max Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em><\/h2>\n

Jake T. Austin<\/a> played Selena Gomez<\/a>\u2019s well-intentioned little brother Max Russo<\/a> on Disney Channel\u2019s Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em><\/a>, which ran for four seasons from 2007 to 2012.<\/p>\n

Austin\u2019s next big role was on The Fosters<\/em><\/a> from 2013 to 2015. (When he departed after two seasons, his character Jesus Foster was recast with Noah Centineo<\/a>.) He\u2019s also had several voiceover roles, including 2011\u2019s\u00a0Rio<\/em> and its 2014 sequel, 2017\u2019s\u00a0The Emoji Movie<\/em> and the TV series Justice League Action<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Though his acting career has slowed down, he competed on season 23<\/a> of Dancing with the Stars<\/em><\/a> in 2016. Austin\u2019s last film credits were 2020\u2019s Adverse<\/em> and 2024\u2019s Daft State<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Austin was not included on the series reboot Wizards Beyond Waverly Place<\/em><\/a>, writing on Instagram Stories in August 2026 that he was \u201cdisappointed,\u201d as he was 100% in when asked in 2020 but ultimately wasn\u2019t included on the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tenzing Norgay Trainor: Parker Rooney on Liv and Maddie<\/em><\/h2>\n

Tenzing Norgay Trainor starred on Liv and Maddie<\/em><\/a> as the titular twins\u2019 mischievous little brother Parker Rooney for the entirety of the show\u2019s four-season run from 2013 to 2017.<\/p>\n

After the Disney Channel show ended, Trainor starred on two Netflix series, Boo, Bitch <\/em>and Freeridge<\/em><\/a>. He also made guest appearances on sitcoms like The Mick<\/em>, Modern Family<\/em> and American Housewife<\/em><\/a>, as well as taking on voice roles in projects like the animated series Abominable and the Invisible City<\/em> and Disney+\u2019s 2022 film Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrew starred as Andy Roman opposite his real-life brothers<\/a> Joey Lawrence<\/a> and Matthew Lawrence<\/a> on Brotherly Love<\/em>. However, on the NBC\/The WB series, he and Matthew actually played Joey\u2019s younger half-brothers.<\/p>\n

Since the two-season sitcom ended in 1997, Andrew\u2019s acting career has been prolific. In addition to several voice roles, most famously Recess: School\u2019s Out <\/em>(2001), and guest spots, he\u2019s starred on shows like Oliver Beene<\/em>, United States of Tara<\/em> and Hawaii Five-0<\/em><\/a>. He\u2019s also a part of the Disney Channel Original Movie world, with starring roles in The Other Me<\/em> (2000) and Going to the Mat <\/em>(2004). In 2020, he made his full-length writing and directorial debut with Money Plane<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Andrew has reunited on-screen with his brothers<\/a> multiple times, including starring with both in Jumping Ship<\/em> (2001) and Mistletoe Mixup<\/em> (2021) and alongside Joey in Frankie Meets Jack<\/em><\/a> (2023); Andrew directed the latter two projects.
