Ryan Gosling Admits Sandra Bullock Was The ‘Greatest Girlfriend Of All Time’

Hollywood and  celebrity couples are like our favorite  movies, you don’t want to look away, and you never want it to end. There are endless  celebrities that have dated and broken up only to leave fans heartbroken. There are also two celebrities that fall in love and give everyone a love story of a lifetime. Actors Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling have a different love story.

Sandra Bullock was born on July 26, 1964, in the Washington, DC suburb of Arlington, Virginia. Bullock has been a working actress in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and has also worked as a producer during her impressive and long-lasting career. She is an eclectic actress and doesn’t really fit into just one genre since her talents are so unique and diverse. From suspenseful thrillers to romantic comedies, Bullock has starred in a wide variety of films and television shows. Some of her most notable films include “Miss Congeniality,” “The Lake House,” and “Bird Box.”

Ryan Thomas Gosling was born in 1980 in Ontario, Canada. At the age of 13, he went to an open audition for the TV series called “The Mickey Mouse Club” and secured a place on the show. After making his way from TV to film, Gosling appeared in the cult classic “The Notebook” in 2004. After that, he became a household name quickly—and a worldwide heartthrob. His acclaimed performance in “Half Nelson” in 2006 saw him receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He would later go on to receive a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role as a jazz pianist in “La La Land” in 2017.

During the early stages of Bullock and Gosling’s careers in Hollywood, the two would meet on the set of “Murder by Numbers,” and eventually date.

Bullock and Gosling started dating in 2002, and the relationship only lasted until 2003. After rumors swirled about the two’s romance, Bullock admitted at one point they had been dating.

In 2003 during an interview with Cosmopolitan, Bullock played coy and said,

“Let me see if I can answer that politically and correctly. We’re friends.” She then added, “If you were to add the word just, it would probably be a bit of a lie. So I’d say were friends.”

Bullock opened up and said she had taken away many lessons from being friends with Gosling.

“To chill. I live my life at a manic pace, and he’s taught me to disregard all that isn’t important. He’s like a little Buddha,” she told Cosmopolitan. The famous bachelor Gosling also eventually spilled the tea on his short relationship with Bullock.

“I had two of the greatest girlfriend of all time. I haven’t met anybody who could top them,” the award-winning actor said. Gosling said it could be challenging for two celebrities to last with a rigid and busy schedule.

“Showbusiness is the bad guy. When both people are in show business it’s too much showbusiness. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow,” he said.

After the two megastars split, both went on to have different public relationships. Bullock eventually went on to marry Jesse James in 2005 but sadly got divorced in 2010 after rumors of his infidelity. Gosling went on to settle down with actress  Eva Mendes, and they have two daughters, born in 2014 and 2016.

After her tragic and public divorce, things started to shape up for the star actress for a while. Bullock began dating late photographer Bryan Randall in 2015, and Closer Weekly reported that he took on the important role of being stepfather to Bullock’s children, Louis and Laila. An insider revealed to Closer Weekly that Bullock viewed meeting him as a “godsend,” and that the kids absolutely adored Randall just as much as he adored them.

Tragically, however, Randall passed away on Aug. 5, 2023, after a long battle with ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as reported by People.

In a 2020 interview with People, Bullock opened up more about the idea of getting married again at some point in her life. “I don’t think so, but I can see myself in a committed, safe relationship where there is lots of love and laughter, and ‘making memories’ is No. 1 on the to-do list,” she explained.

As for Gosling and his family with Mendes, he has said how much he adores his crew of women.

“While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. So sweetheart, thank you,” he said onstage. Gosling continued: “Thank you. And to my daughters, Amada and Esmeralda, I love you.”

Both stars, while not together anymore, seemed to find happiness with their significant others as well as their families. Bullock has adopted two children since her divorce from James. She adopted a boy named Louis in 2010 and a girl named Laila in 2015.
